NEW DELHI: Shiromani Akali Dal Monday gave a call for a worldwide Ardas Divas on November 3 to “pray for peace to the departed souls of those who fell a prey to the gruesome massacre of innocents in November 1984, to seek justice for the bereaved families and punishment to the “savage murderers now occupying high offices within the Congress and the government.”
Announcing this at the INLD rally in Gurgaon, the SAD President and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that “it was a national disgrace and blot on the country’s conscience” that even 26 years after the holocaust, the alleged killers were roams the corridors of power and enjoying all official perks and patronage of the ruling party at the center. He announced that Shiromani Akali Dal along with MPs, representative of likeminded parties, intellectuals and all justice loving people would hold candle light vigil at Jantar Mantar NewDelhi tomorrow at 5.30pm to remind that people justice was still awaited by over thousands families of Sikhs, who were butchered on the roads of National Captial 26 years ago.
Badal said that it was ironical that largest democracy of world was denying justice to families of seven thousand innocent Sikhs, just for saving the skin of Congress leaders and “hidden hand” behind that massacre. The Deputy Chief Minister said that there could be no justification in any criminal justice system for not convicting a single culprit for broad day light massacre of thousand of innocents, that too in the heart of national capital. Mr. Badal said that in this candle light vigil members of Parliament of SAD, BJP and all like minded parties would participate in the silent procession besides thousand of justice loving people who would converge to Jantar Mantar to expose the Congress party’s collusion in subverting the judicial process.
Announcing the worldwide Ardas Divas programme, Badal said that SAD has appealed to all Gurdwaras and Religious places all over the world to observe Ardas Divas on November 3rd, praying for peace to departed souls of thousand of innocent Sikhs who were still waiting for justice, 26 years after the massacre. Mr. Badal said that it was matter of grate shame that Congress party was leaving no stone unturned to save the skin of main architects of this worst ever massacre in the world, fearing the exposure of hidden hand of 10, Janpath in this. He said that not arresting Sajjan Kumar, in a charge sheet filed 18 years ago for murder of four innocents speaks a volume about whole system hijacked by ruling party. He said that we needed a soul stirring speech by Harsimrat Kaur Badal in Parliament to awaken the government from deep slumber.
The SAD President reiterated the resolve of the party to continue its fight till all those responsible for this genocide were awarded exemplary punishment.
