Sukhbir Singh Badal, former Finance Minister Manpreet Badal Friday challenged him for open debate on the state economy and asked him to issue a white paper on the government expenditure.
In a statement issued here, Manpreet Badal said that it was necessary to start a debate on the economy of Punjab. He said he didnt want to make a statment on unnecessary expenses of government but it would be approperiate if Sukhbir Badal himself issues a white paper to clear the picture. He said that it would help people of Punjab to know who is the friend and foe of Punjab. He alleged that Sukhbir Badal was recklessly wasting the hard earned money of people.
Manpreet Badal said that let Sukhbir Badal himself fix a date and place for the debate on economic issues in the presence of public. He asked Sukhbir Badal to accept the challenge and tell the people of state how much funds were spent on Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, the advisor and media advisor of CM, their helicopter flying and tour expenditure, medical bills, expenses on foreign trips and how much is being spent on their security. He also wanted to know how much advertisements were issued to TV channel PTC news for taking political advantage.
Manpreet Badal said that being Finance Minister he ahd never claimed travelling allownace, neither used escort vehicle and not took petrol from government for the private vehicle he was using. He said that many minsiters were sending the bills of their private vehicles amounting in crores to the government. Making an attack on style of functioning of Sukhbir Badal, he said that why some people need high securioty and why they move in big convoys. He said that with all this money the salaries of thousands of teachers can be paid.
He said that govenment teeasury was not anybody’s personal asset and being in power doesnt mean that you are free to waste the public money. He said that it was need of the hour to stop wastage of money and expand the revenue resources. He said that running government with the borrowed money is not a wisdom. He warneds that next generations would never excuse the present rulers.
Manpreet Badal asked Sukhbir Badal what he has so far done to remove unemployment and stop drug menace in state. He also asked Deputy Chief Minister put breaks to VIP culture in the state. He said that he was happy that wise people of Punjab have came out in his support and Jago Punjab Yatra is a thunder success.
